Booty Bay Bruiser's Buckshot WoW Forever beta

Nerfed on October 6: the gun no longer knocks anyone back

Use: Take steady aim and fire a round to knock your target away.

A hotfix took away its Use effect. It’s now an ordinary level 30 gun, still sold at Honored. Everything below about the knockback, the clips included, is from before the nerf. The road to Honored is the same, and so is the Souvenir Sea Shell.

Blizzard confirmed it in its development notes of October 8: the gun no longer knocks anyone back.

This is the gun from Payo’s clips. Since October 5 he’s been using it to knock players off piers, boats and cliffs, and it works on your own faction too.

It’s sold in Booty Bay to players Honored with the town, 8,500 reputation from where every character starts. Here’s the quickest way to get there at level 30.

And if griefing is not your thing, the same quartermaster sells the Souvenir Sea Shell at Honored, which is on every one of our PvP best-in-slot lists.

Anyone, any faction
It hits players of your own faction as well as the other one, and it does no damage. On flat ground the push is long and low; from a ledge, a bridge or a ship’s deck, the fall does the rest.
Still a gun
It is also a level 30 ranged weapon with 9 Attack Power, on the best-in-slot lists of warriors, rogues and hunters. Like every reward here, it is bound to you once bought.

It didn’t last: an October 6 hotfix took the knockback away.

Payo’s clips

Payo catches Whaazz AFK at Highperch. He was streaming Aion 2 at the time.
At Freewind Post, Payo pays a Horde player 50 silver for a duel, then opens with the gun.
Payo tries it for the first time on the Booty Bay pier. The gnome ends up in the harbour.
On the Booty Bay boat, Payo sends an Alliance shaman into the sea. His chat had asked for it.

Reaching Honored

Booty Bay, Ratchet, Gadgetzan and Everlook are four goblin towns of the same cartel. Whatever reputation you earn with one, the other three get half of it. That is why Ratchet’s quests and the pirates of the Barrens, which pay Ratchet, also count for Booty Bay.

  1. The Booty Bay quests

    about 1,225

Most of them start on the docks of Booty Bay, a few steps from the quartermaster. They are level 30 to 44 quests: at 30, take a group for the elites and the higher ones.

Each of these quests also lowers your standing with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, the pirates Booty Bay fights. It does not matter at level 30: their own quests start at level 49.

  2. The Ratchet quests

    about 1,450 Alliance, 2,100 Horde

Ratchet’s quests in the Barrens add up to 2,895 Ratchet reputation for the Alliance and 4,220 for the Horde, and Booty Bay gets half. If you levelled through the Barrens, most of it is already on your sheet. If you skipped them, they are quick at 30, and they take you to Friendly with Ratchet, whose quartermaster sells level 20 gear.

  3. Pirates, for the rest

    about 2,050–2,300 kills

The Merchant Coast, in the Barrens

South of Ratchet, around 63.0, 46.5, the Southsea pirates hold the coast. They are level 12-15. Each one gives +5 Ratchet reputation, so about +2.5 to Booty Bay. Their captain, Baron Longshore, gives +25.

/way 63.0 46.5to paste in your chat with TomTom

After the quests of steps 1 and 2, Honored is about 2,050 pirates away for the Horde and 2,300 for the Alliance. On the way, Ratchet reaches Honored too.

    The Venture Co., in Stranglethorn

The goblins of the Venture Co. camps in the north of Stranglethorn, around 40.0, 17.0, give Booty Bay +5 each, twice a pirate: about 1,050–1,150 kills. They are level 34-38, above you at 30, so go in a group: every member gets the reputation of each kill.

The reputation each quest and each kill gives is Classic’s, as Wowhead lists it for Forever. Nobody has published a count from the beta yet.

The eyepatch and the headband at Revered are cosmetic. Gadgetzan and Everlook have their own quartermasters, Rettrick and Zippie Fizzbolt, for levels 40 and 50, after the beta’s cap.

The Souvenir Sea Shell is the first neck on 13 of our best-in-slot lists, most of them PvP. For the rest of the road to 30, the level 30 guide gives the towns and quests of each stretch.
