The WoW Forever beta
World of Warcraft: Forever, announced at BlizzCon on September 12, 2026, opens its beta on September 17, 2026. This page keeps the dates, how to get in, and, from the first build on, every change between builds read straight from the game client.
- September 17, 2026Beta opens on Battle.net
- October 21, 2026Beta ends
- November 4, 2026World of Warcraft: Forever launches
How to get beta access
- Opt in. On the official Forever site, top right, Beta Opt-in. Blizzard invites testers from that pool in waves; no guarantee.
- Buy a pack. The Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection include beta access from day one, plus the Skyborne race and a name reservation, per Blizzard’s pre-purchase article. The Heroic Pack unlocks the Skyborne without beta access.
- Once invited, the beta client shows up in the Battle.net app under World of Warcraft, like the Classic betas did.
What is in the beta
Expect the leveling game first, as in the Classic betas: the reworked talent trees and spellbooks of all nine classes, the new race and class combinations (Undead Paladin, Dwarf Shaman, Human Hunter, Gnome Priest, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock), the Skyborne with their starting zone Zephras Isle, the Legacy system, and the new zones. Blizzard has not published a test schedule; this page is updated when it does.
Before the client is out, this site shows what was read at BlizzCon: the changes class by class, the talent trees, the spellbooks at level 38, the Legacy perks, races and racials.
Beta builds, every change diffed
No Forever build on the CDN yet. The watcher checks every 30 minutes; the first build is diffed against the last Classic Era build so its page exists within the hour of its release.
Questions
When does the WoW Forever beta start?
The beta opens on September 17, 2026 and runs until October 21, 2026. World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, 2026.
How do I get into the WoW Forever beta?
Two ways. Opt in on the official World of Warcraft: Forever site (top right, "Beta Opt-in"); Blizzard picks testers from that pool, so opting in does not guarantee an invitation. Or buy the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection, which include beta access from the first day, per Blizzard's pre-purchase article.
Do I need to buy anything to play WoW Forever?
No. Forever comes with a World of Warcraft subscription, like Classic. The paid packs add the Skyborne race, beta access, name reservation and cosmetics.
What does this site do during the beta?
Each beta build of the client is diffed automatically against the previous one: every spell, talent and item whose text or numbers changed gets an entry with the before and after. The BlizzCon entries on this site are checked against the client and corrected where the footage was wrong.
Will there be a beta patch notes page for each build?
Yes. Every build gets its own page, listed below as soon as it is on the CDN, and the class pages carry the changes of the latest build.
